A gift guide: necklaces and bracelets

A diamond given as a gift should feel chosen, not bought. The easiest way to get there is to think about how the person you love dresses on an ordinary Tuesday — because the best gift is one they will wear far more often than on the day it arrives.
The solitaire: one stone, worn every day
A single diamond on a fine chain is the most personal of necklaces. It sits close to the collarbone, goes with everything and rarely comes off. Choose the shape that suits them: a round for classic sparkle, a pear or oval for something softer and longer, a heart when the meaning should be obvious. Browse our necklaces to see each shape on its chain.
The tennis necklace: a line of light
For an occasion that deserves a statement, a tennis necklace is a continuous line of diamonds, each in its own setting. It is the piece people remember. Equal-size stones give a clean, even line; graduated designs draw the eye to the centre. See them together in our tennis necklaces.
Stations: light, spaced out
A station necklace sets diamonds at intervals along a fine chain, so the sparkle catches as they move. It is a lovely choice for someone who prefers understated pieces, and it layers well with what they already own.

Bracelets: the piece that is always in view
A bracelet is the one piece of jewelry its wearer sees all day. A classic tennis bracelet is a line of diamonds that moves like fabric; a bezel-set design wraps each stone in a smooth rim of metal, which feels sleek and catches less on knitwear. Find both in our tennis bracelets, or browse every style in bracelets.
Getting the details right
- Metal. Look at what they already wear. White gold and sterling silver suit cool tones and other white jewelry; yellow and rose gold feel warm and work beautifully with a tan.
- Necklace length. A shorter chain sits at the collarbone, a longer one falls just below. If in doubt, choose the shorter: it suits most necklines.
- Bracelet fit. Measure a bracelet they already own and love, end to end, rather than guessing from the wrist.
- The certificate. Every diamond we set is graded by IGI or GIA, and the certificate travels with the piece — tuck it in with the gift.
